carolina. we have live team coverage with reaction from players, coach wright and nova nation. >> and it may have been hot on the court last night but it is cold outside this morning. accuweather is tracking the april chill that's in the air. >> let's turn to dave murphy and karen rogers. >> evidence of the chill on storm tracker6 live double scan as we have a strong flow of air coming from the north and a couple of very light snow showers around allentown, delaware county, parts of philadelphia chester county and down the shore as well. most of this low impact but slow it down if you see the roads getting even the least bit coated. a freeze warning in effect until 10 o'clock this morning. we have been talking about this. temperatures are headed below freezing in they aren't there already so those potted plants should be coming in. 3232 in wilmington, 28 in trenton. the 20's up north, 30's down south with that wind dropping down out of the north and the wind chill making it feel like it's 21 currently in philadelphia and the teens in some points north. so you do want to bundle up. on the way out the door and to the bus stop we're looking at

temperatures on or about freezing between 6 o'clock and 8 o'clock, breezy and cold out there this morning despite the fact that we'll get a fair amount of sunshine fairly quickly. and you can see that temperatures are going to stay cooler today. 45 degrees by 3 o'clock. your high 46 degrees and that comes at about 4 o'clock. another freeze warning likely tonight, karen. details on that coming up in the seven day. >> all right, dave, we're radnor township here in delaware county live on the blue route at route 30. the villanova saint davids exit. things are moving fine. no reports of closures through the area and the ramps are all opened there. vine street expressway is opened in both directions. we had it closed overnight with construction but we see westbound, eastbound moving okay and we're clear and dry, it's just cold out there this morning. on the big picture we have the blue route, schuylkill, i-95, speeds mostly in the 50's. tacony palmyra bridge back down after a southbound ship. walnut street is still closed until september. you've got to use lincoln drive or schoolhouse lane. walnut bridge right there, walnut lane bridge still remains closed and the sixers

their big dance. katherine. >> reporter: yeah, what a shot. what kind of poise do you need to make a shot like that in the final seconds of a national championship game. unbelievable. we're here at the pavilion this morning and the wildcats are have poured in a lot of blood sweat and tears here this season and it all paid off last night. [cheers and applause] >> reporter: the trophy held high under a confetti shower in houston. the crowd on their feet. the villanova wildcats the 2016 national champions. >> we just battled, we fought and it's a sweet feeling to know how much work we've all put in. >> reporter: neshaminy grad and senior point guard ryan arcidiacono cut off the last piece of the championship net. he was named the final four m.v.p. in those last few nail-biting seconds of the game he passed the ball to kris jenkins who's 3-pointer lifted the wildcats to victory. for villanova's coach, just being part of this game was

surreal. >> numb, i really am. it's a thrill. it is humbling. you feel so fortunate to be with these guys. kris hits the shot. come on man, we could -- when marcus paige hit the shot we could have been on the other side of this. we're very bless when this happens to you. >> reporter: i can watch that last shot all day and i probably will and it will never get old. unbelievable. gives you chills. of course the celebration will continue on campus today and beyond. live from villanova's campus, katherine scott channel6 "action news. >> i've seen it a few times myself. it is awesome. thanks katherine. chopper6 hd flew over villanova last night. thousands of students and fans poured into the streets of radnor township. it appears someone in the rowdy bunch did start a fire but police say no one was hurt and there were only a few arrests. >> "action news" reporter annie mccormick is also live from villanova with more on how students celebrated overnight and probably continue to celebrate into this morning. good morning, annie. >> reporter: yeah, probably still celebrating right now.

we don't see any right where we are. surprising after you look at katherine's story you see all of those fans many students that were in houston if there were any left here at villanova but there were plenty. there were thousands that were celebrating. radnor township police say they did make three arrests. there were about 22 injuries, mostly from intoxication but overall they say that the students behaved pretty well. thousands spilled out onto lancaster avenue following the historic win. radnor township police got assistance from multiple local, state and federal agencies to man the crowds. students climbed light poles, raised flags and even started several small fires as they cheered in the street. mounted units quickly came through and officers extinguished the fires and dispersed the crowds. it was all under the watchful eye of authorities. radnor police had a command center set up where they monitored cameras on the campus. for the most part, students' excitement did not get out of hand. those who packed the pavilion for the watch party got the feeling they were actually at

the game in houston. and in those final heart pumping seconds when the wildcats clinched the national title, cheers inside before they hit the streets. >> i honestly think they're a great did he first and offense team and they really back each other up and they really knew each other's, you know, they knew each other so well so it really helped out in the inbound end. >> this is very exciting. especially as a freshman. like this is like amazing. >> reporter: and back out here live take taking a look at that trophy case right there. i'm guessing that's probably where the ncaa trophy he will go when the wildcats do make it back home. now, also for the t-shirts, those championship t-shirts we're told they went to print last night, about 5,000 of them were order and they are expected to be at the bookstore at 8:00 a.m. this morning. for now reporting live on villanova's campus, annie mccormick channel6 "action news." matt and tam. >> and you know those going to sell out. thank you, annie. excited villanova fans

>> you'll be able to watch it. >> that exuberance of the kids reminded me of when i was 20 and the phillies won the world series. storm tracker6 double scan right now we've got a little bit of precipitation around the region. as we take a closer look you can see some of it is in the form of some very light snow shower activity. a bit of this coming down through easton allentown and bethlehem. i want to go in tight in this area where areas from norristown down through malvern a little brighter shade of white there. this is pushing down into areas just to the west of media. that's route one. there's i-95. and it looks like areas close to the pennsylvania-delaware border are going to pick up a little bit of that. this is probably just nuisance variety stuff but if you see any sheen forming on the roads slow it down. a little lighter stuff in chester county. and then the second batch up here in allentown, bethlehem, ooh eston pushing down toward quakertown again all of this pushing down from the north to the south and then finally down in cape may, new jersey, it looks like that stuff that

we have been watching earlier is now pushing off the coast. it's a little more pronounced but should be getting off the coast shortly. as we take a look outside, we do have cloudy skies overhead. there's the shore view. and as we take a look at temperatures this morning, well, along with those light snow showers we also have dropping numbers and a lot of us below freezing. upper 20's in trenton, allentown reading. freezing mark on the nose in philadelphia and wilmington. 33 in millville and slightly milder numbers are going to continue to go down. satellite shows that you there is some clearing off to the north and that dry air is quickly entering the picture. it does look like overall we'll see plenty of sunshine today. in the lehigh valley 41 degrees, mostly sunny, brisk and chilly. at the shore today not much different. 43 degrees, lots of sun but a chilly wind blowing. and in philadelphia we'll go for a high of 46. winds out of the north gusting at 30 miles per hour through the morning hours and then probably easing back a bit later in the afternoon. brisk and chilly conditions under the sun. and then tonight, 28 is the low and it looks like we're going to get another freeze

warning. there's a freeze watch in effect for overnight tonight already. it will probably go to a warning after we get rid of this morning's warning which ends at 10 o'clock this morning, so cold situation right now. another one when you wake up tomorrow. your seven-day from accuweather sunny brisk and chilly, 46 today. improvement tomorrow up to 56 after a cold start. 61 thursday with periods of rain an thunderstorm. and then a shower in the morning on friday but clouds and sun otherwise and a high of 53. looks like it will be dry for the union match on friday night. brisk and chilly on saturday, 48 with perhaps a sprinkle around. 50 on sunday, clouds mixing with some sun. looks like it's going to be dry for the phillies home opener with a high of 60. >> that's were. >> all right. >> thanks, david. 5:11 now and we have more stories you didn't see last night. someone stole a car with two sleeping children inside: "action news" was there for the emotional end to a family's frightening ordeally. >> heist netted thieves in central pennsylvania more than a million dollars in jewelry. karen. >> we're looking live right here. this is exton, chester county, route 100 at sunrise

there. you hate to hear this this time of year i know but i want to go in right now and show you on 322 we're looking at that in chester county. chadds ford along baltimore pike near median the blue route you're get flurries here near west chester route three near malvern on the 30 bypass a couple flurries you might spot as well as in norristown as we shift a little bit to the north we can see maybe a flurry or two flying near east ton and milford so watch for this as you're heading out nearly a town and quakertown along 309, maybe a flurry or two. this isn't going to be a big deal but just something we're watching but you can see these numbers in the northwest. in the 20's. it is a cold start matt. >> a pair of twin children are safe after the car they were sleeping in was stolen. it happened at broad street and clue avenue in philadelphia's olney section at 11:30 last night. the children's father left the car running while he went to a chinese takeout restaurant. someone jumped inside it and drove off. police found the stolen car a few looks away at 15th street

and widener place. the three-year-old twin boys were still asleep in the back seat. police are still looking for the car thief. >> also new this morning, two jewelry salesmen were beaten up and then robbed of a million dollars worth of jewelry. this happened in monroeville outside of pittsburgh on saturday night. this is surveillance video and it shows one of the victims going insides a restaurant. that's when police say four people assaulted the salesman's business partner and stole several suitcases containing a million dollars worth of jewelry. police believe the suspect play have been followed from new york city. new on "action news" it's up to tennessee governor bill haslum to decide if the holy bible will become the state's official book. lawmakers have approved a bill making the designation despite possible conflicts in the law. it recognizes the bible's contributions to the state but opponents argue it trivializes the bible. >> the phillies bullpen
